Ian and Old Mine and List

I have accomplished all missions with the exception of obtaining the list from Ian to do the Test of Faith for the Old Camp. However, I cannot find Ian. And Diego says he is in the old mine and that's where I need to go but first get a map from the other guy. I did that. I saved the game at the Old Mine and Ian is not there and there is a gate to the old mine and I can't get in. Did I miss something or is Ian not there?

Ian is in the Old Mine. If you are sure you are in the Old Mine, not the Free Mine, try to find a lever that may have reset itself. The first time I tried to enter the Old Mine, Gothic froze. If the lever doesn't solve the problem you may have to "cheat" to get past the gate.
