I bought Gothic and started playing it, and it slows down sooooo much when i play. sometimes it just has to load for about 2 min. before it shifts to the next frame! I must have a frame rate of 10 frames a minute!!!!!

Windows ME
NVIDIA Riva TNT2 Model 64/ Model 64 Pro
I just downloaded the newest drivers from NVIDIA.com. I set the graphics at the LOWEST: 640 X 480, texture quality all the way down, view distance 100%. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

You'll need at least 265 MB of RAM. What about your other specs?

When booting your computer says how much RAM it has; you can also see your system specs in your Windows control panel.

I'm afraid it is. Gothic is a RAM-buster. But then again, most modern games are.

So, if i upgrade my Ram to 256 (which i was going to do anyway), do you think that it would help the performance? I really wanna play this badass game!

Might help... but then again, what is your processor, or did I just overlook that piece of info?

I've got 384 Megs of RAM and a PIII 600 mhz processor. TNT2 video card and Soundblaster Live!. It runs beautifully on my system. So it sounds like the only thing you need is another stick of RAM. Look here for pricing.

My eternal thanks, Val! You too, Jaz! Both of you are truely generous and wise. May the war god smile on your blades, and may he turn his wrath against your foes. (or something like that.)

i will try the way you have suggested. Thanks a bunch!
