FEAR in the start of a game |
|
I don't know if im posting right.
When i played the game for the first time. I was very very scared.
When i followed Diego to the Old Camp i was there very long.
I didn't gain a level in few days. I was so scared. When it was night i went away from Diego to the marketplace and then to Diego (Circle). And then I didn't saw Thorus and i thought that i went somewhere far away. And when i made around 5 circles i was so scared that i was afraid to go back because i thought i was at least few km away from DIEGO. And i thought that all 3 camps are in outer ring in the Old Camp.
Did you have the same feeling when you played the game for the first time ??? _________________

maybe you could use the savegame option ? ; )
Just kidding,
If you want to be scared just play Thief and you'll think your spinal tap is cold. |

Or Daggerfall. The first time I hung around a city after dark was terrifying. The ghosts and wraiths wailing while you're running away from them because you're too low level to hurt them. I think I had a nightmare or two about that. |

I can't remember I was scared, no. Like Lanael said; if you use the savegame option there really shouldn't be a problem
I remember I got scared in Resident Evil 1 & 2. Good games |

Thief!! The best level ever was the "Return to the Catherdal level" . The Eye, the zombies, and the undead guards!!!!! 2nd place, System Shock 2, The Many were entirely too creepy. Both games where great, they scared the hell out of you, and put a little hair on your lowers. Gothic on the other hand tried, but just didn't make it. The undead orc priests made me laugh rather than cry. NNNNOOOOOOWWWWWW YOUUUU WILLLLLL DDDDDDDIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE MMMMMOOOOORRRRRRTTTAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!Jesus talk about over kill; but being a total wuss at the begininng of the game really did set you as low man on the totem pole. |

I'm still working on Gothic, but so far Arx is the only one that made me jump in my seat. The crypt got me good. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

The only game(s) ever to make me jump in my seat were Thief 1 and 2. _________________ Jaz |

two games that scared me was Aliens VS. Predator 1 + 2..there is nothing scarier then running down a corridor and suddenly a fachugger jumps on your face and you never see it coming great games.....i still cringe when i here the sound of them crawling around and i know they a nearby...
btw i jumped many times in morrowind when i went into the dwemer ruins to get the puzzlebox thing and i would be in a room and turn around and i would se one of those sphere centurians right in my face about to jab me w/ their spikes.....

Gothic frightened me several times. Once walking through the woods at night trying to make my way back to the Old Camp a pack of wolfs attack me from behind. Then there was the time I lured a pack of orc doges out of a canyon so they would attack the guard (Pacho) that warns you of danger upon entering the canyon. I was standing on the hill waiting for the pack to finishing the guard off when from out of the corner of my eye a orc dog pounces on me.

The game that gets me is Silent Hill 2. There is something about that game that makes the hair on the back of my neck start to crawl (maybe I should play it duing the day) . Aliens was good to…I think the fact that you couldn’t see anything added to the tenseness of the game. Morrowind III is a great game (I used it as a Gothic fix between 1 & 2). I can’t recall how many times I’ve jumped after being ambushed by a cliff racer…I hate those things. _________________ "That one hurt..."

Yeah, Silent Hill 2 was scary big time, it's probably the atmospehere of it all.. That metal triangle/basin head thing scared the shit out of me with that huge knife.. And that ending where the main character kills himself is very sad. Oops, I accidently revealed some spoilers... Edit- The one where he kills himself with the knife. A soul for a soul, whatever. |

I played Gothic 2 in FP mode and it scared the shit out of me several time over the weekend. FP really changes the atmosphere of the game…and adds a whole lot to the spontaneity game. I also got 5.1 format headphones and use it to play Gothic…WOW!! I got caught in the woods at night and started to hear goblins in front of me and came upon a grave yard (very creepy with the fog, a full moon and surround sound). The next thing I know I’m knee deep in screaming little maniacs trying to beat me to a pulp. I almost jumped out of my seat when the first critter hit me from the side. There I am running around in the fog in the dark fending off little demons you can hardly see… what an adrenalin rush. _________________ "That one hurt..."
