how sarcastic of you.
I meant that piece of advice for those that aren't so stuck on taking things literally that they don't need exact, complete, directions.
But, for people like Pinen:
When you're in Seyda Neen, (it's a town, the town you start your game in. You know you're there if it's occupied by people, most of whom will talk about what it's like living in Seyda Neen.), begin walking west along the water. (there is a map on the lower right hand part of your screen. If you make an "L" shape with your two hands, the one that forms that backwards L is the right side. The part of your moniter closest to the ground it the bottom. Once you see the map, orient your character by moving the mouse and using the w,a,s,d keys so that the arrow on your map is pointing to the left. Now follow the coast. I don't mean literally follow the coast, since the coast is stationary. I mean walk along the coast (not in the water! Walk on land in a way that you're never getting any nearer to or farther from the water. You know you're going the right way if you see a lot of rocks and trees. Periodically check that you have not wandered into the water. If you stay underwater too long, you drown. Drowning kills your character. Also, if you notice your health bar dropping (it's the little red rectangle, or your screen may flash red. Side note: if you are unfamiliar with the color red, it is the longest wavelength in the visible spectrum, and is the same color as the border of stop signs. See the Webster's dictionary for a more elaborate explanation of "red" if necessary). anyway, if your health bar is dropping, it may because something is attacking you. Look around you. Is there a rat at your feet? or a pterdactyl (sic) flying around your head? If there is, kill it. Continue walking along (not in) the ocean. You will come to a structure about 5 game feet (or 1 inch on your moniter) from the ocean. The name of this structure will be "something ancestral tomb". not literally the "something ancestral tomb"...I am not sure what the first word is. Enter it. explore this tomb, killing anything you find, and you will find Lord Brinne's ashes.
Few reminders:
1. If you can't see the ocean you're either too far away or facing the wrong direction. Turn around
2. If you're wondering why all the fish are flying around you, you are underwater. Get out of the water.
3.If there is someone in the tomb offering to sell you weapons, you are not in the tomb. you are still in Seyda Neen. |

1. I tried that but I still can't see the ocean - I'm wearing those boots that make you blind but you didn't make any provision for them in your instructions - Now I'm lost
2. Or you are experiencing a collision detection bug (not joking here - I saw a slaughter fish swimming through Seyda Neen - it was funny until it attacked me)
3. Or you are using the Tomb Vendor plug-in
Sorry couldn't resist this - it's late and I'm tired but your reply was quite funny _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

An optimist says the glass is half full, a pessimist says it is half empty and a realist shouts out "OK whose been drinking out of my cup again?" _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

Or, more likely: "Bartender, fill me up!!!" _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer

Lord Brinne also has a tomb in Might and Magic 8.. Look for it in Ravenshore.
He is also supposed to be mentioned in Deus Ex, but I'm not sure aobut that. Never found it myself. |

I found his ashes in Morrowind. They are in Samarys Ancestral Tomb in Seyda Neen. Go to the place where you found the body of Processus the Tax Collector and walk/fly directly NW. Its very close from there.

Just read this thread and I really needed that belly-laugh! (umm, not about Lord Brynne, but I already knew that and I think this is an appropriate way for him to be remembered anyway)
My car is dead, as is my 7200HD with all my saved games (thank goodness for my "slow but steady" Seagate), but now I have a smile on my face for the next few minutes at least. And I can hardly wait till my son gets home from work so I can read this to him.
Thanks guys! |
