Dead man

I fear that I lost possibility to advance in "big house" I choosed - Redoran.
I am now trying to become Councelor and my "sponsor" gave me this quest: go and speak with Ondres Narano in Balmora. Well this man is dead. It is the only person I killed without reason. And now I need him.
My sponsor continues to say that I should go in Balmora and speak with him and stop his slanders.
What should I do?

Ahhh, the consequences of murder! The "proper" answer is that you killed him of your own free will and these are the consequences.

However, that sucks. Anyway, it's a limitation of the engine that it can't work out that since the guy is dead, there's no need to worry about his slandering any more! Try this, go to where Ondres should be (just to be neat), open your console and type:

player->placeatpc,"ondres nerano",1,1,0

That should respawn him. It might not work (other changes to the game when he died - journal entries etc.), but it has a good chance of fixing the problem. For extra style points, after you've completed the quest, kill him again.

When it's a limitation of the engine, I see no reason why you shouldn't bend the rules a little. Call it necromancy or something!

Oh, and like that would go over well with House Redoran.

Hey, they're the ones who are demanding he speak with the dead!

It really worked!
I spoke with him about slanders and when he started duel, I - this time - had good fight. He used only hands, so I put my Deadric mace back and used my hands to knock him down and kill him. Poor Ondres this was his second death.
