General charcreation advice needed

Hi !
I just bought the game - but the custom charcreation is rahter confusing to me.
I am not the one who restarts 10 times until i get all knowledge about the gamemechanics.
Can you give me some tips wich skills in wich categories to choose from when i want a sorcerer type char.
As what i already read it will prolly get very easy gaming after some time - but thats ok for me - i dont want to spend 100+ gamehours to play.
Skills i like are Swords - dunno if short or long
Magic - (Enchanting sounds nice)
I really like a good caster + nice swordskill - prolly a uberchar - but as i said
i dont care if it gets easy later.

That would be quite difficult class/character to create, since races that good in magic/sorcery usually not good in combat using swords.

Anyway, the most balance race (good in combat & magic) in Morrowind is Dark Elf. They have skills bonuses on both short & long swords, and bonuses on magical skills such as Destruction & Mysticism. So when choosing skills for your character make sure you choose short/Long Blade, Light Armour (there's bonuses for Dark Elf, or if you like Heavy armour just add it to your major skills), then also consider Block (use shields), armorer (repair weapons), & Athletics (dodging/speed). As for minor skills consider marksman (using bow, throwing weapons etc), also Axe, Blunt weapons (hammers, mace etc) and Alteration (for levitation, faster swimming etc for chances to acces to higher/hidden places), and Enchant. Take note that enchantment skills is very difficult to level up yourself, but since you don't mind powergaming then just download mods that allow merchant have $$$$$$$$$$, then sale expensives daedric weapons to them to get enough money for enchanting items from enchanters (you would surprises on how much money needed for enchanting a single items!).

That's it, hope in no time your character will tearing through whole game or blowing away bunch of monsters & then finish MW in less than 100 hours! .
