| Can't Find General Yamir -- SPOILER Is Welcome |
|
This is my first time through the game. I've completed the Mook Alliance mission and received orders to report to General Yamir. The security pass allows me to enter his quarters, but he is not there. I've explored the Upper Mt Gigas caves thoroughly, and I think the area I'm supposed to find him in is at the northwest corner, just west of the Umpani transporter.
Have I left something undone? Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm... I've never heard of that happening. And your right, he should be in his quarters (Base CMD) in the northwest section of the upper caves.
Do you have the lastest patch installed?

No patch applied, but the version does say 1.2.4 at the top right when I run the game, so I assume the CD came with the latest patch applied. I've had no gameplay issues up through this point. I guess I'll have to try e-mailing tech support.

That is the latest version.
I'd swing by that area one more time and check again. Here is a map. The General is at the Base CMD. If you don't see him, then e-mail tech support with a detailed description of the problem and a savegame in that area.

Not likely given where General Yamir is, but it might be possible that he was drawn into a combat (as your ally) and killed without you even realizing it. If so and you want to continue with the Umpani quests, I have no suggestions except to reload an earlier save and replay a portion of it.  (If you're not already doing so, SAVE OFTEN IN MULTIPLE SLOTS!) In fact, you may want to try this anyway, just to try and isolate if there is a problem. From the patch descriptions I've read, this wouldn't be an issue that was addressed in any of them.
