Warhammer Online: Interview Part 2 @ MMORPG Italia
MMORPG Italia dropped us a line to let us know the second part of their interview with Climax' Clint Roberts about Warhammer Online is now available. Scroll down to reach the English version and the new questions start at No.13. Here's an excerpt:
19) Can I try to kill main characters?

We are including combat between characters, but because of problems we’ve seen with PvP (player vs player) combat in other games there are limitations.

We’ve decided to protect characters in lower level career paths from PvP by banning them from performing player kills and more importantly, them being killed by others. This is because one of the main problems we see in most MMOGs is the indiscriminate and random newbie slaughtering performed by experienced characters. This is one sure way to loose new players quickly and something we’re keen to avoid.

Therefore only some of the highest level careers open up PvP possibilities, and only when they are mutually antagonistic (e.g. Bounty Hunters are PvP towards Outlaws and vice versa). Before heading into them you will be made fully aware that following this path will open you to certain opponents in PvP, so you’ll fully understand the dangers.
