You have 24 hours a day, 6 days a week off and have no girlfriend or wife and you are glummy? I work and go to school and have a wife and a kid, I'd trade places with you in a second. I'm guessing the seventh day for you is church seeing as you are pretty religious. Wives are evil, capible of nothing good. And girlfriends fake niceness to get a ring on their finger so they can finally let the evil shine through like a magnesium flare. Becarefull what you wish for. Don't let the movies fool you where it is all smiley faces and rump shaking fun. The reality is broken windows, smashed things, bloody knuckles from punching pictures, yelling in each others faces with spittle flying, headaches, late nights, neighbors that hate you for screaming at 4 in the morning, coming closer than you ever have to actually losing it, depression, despiar, no loght at the end of the tunnel, total and utter horribleness with the only end being almost as bad. Count your lucky stars and thank God you have it the way you do.
If I had it to do all over again I would move to Greece and become a male prostitute. Women are fine to talk to and be friends with, but as far as living together in holy matrimony stick to your hand. Its a cheap date and is so much better for your inner peace and overall harmoney.
And if for some dumb reason you just have to get married, don't go American. Import from a macho culture where woman beating and reopression are commonplace. I'm thinking of moving to Afganistan to save my marriage. The men and society will either beat some sense into my wife, or they will kill me for being a filthy infindel. Either way I won't have to hear all my wife's blah blah blah anymore and I might be able to relax once in a while. _________________ Vegitarian is the Indian word for lousey hunter. |

Love your rants but I think you went a little over the top with that one. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

Well said Xen.
@Roqua - I have to admit I *did* grin pretty hard when reading it, but it is a bit.... um, how do you say it ... Yeah ... over the top. That's it
PS - I, too, love your rants. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

Yeah, some people are happily married. Sometimes I am, but most of the time it is the hardest thing in the world. It is crazy how someone that supposedly loves you can want to cause you so much harm. I just want things to be good but they never are. I always thought it would be different, I thought marraige meant love and smiles, not pain and suffering. Well, you win some, you loose some. I love my wife, but I'm pretty sure she is trying to destroy my mind and my life. I wish I thought that she loved me.
If the over the top part was in reference to the don't go American part though, I have to stick by what I said. Sometimes things that are wrong can be great depending on what end you are on. I am no sexist and if anything I am a women'r rights activist, I treat woman under the age of 56 the same as men. I am not a gentleman, if woman wanted men to be gentleman they should of thought of that before burning their bras. I am against social taboos that enforce the degridation and repression of women like the male paying for the date and mowing the lawn is a man's job, opening car doors, and all that sexist crap. I dislike when women want to be treated equal only in ways that benefit them, but want a man to change their tire or pay for dinner. That is crap and I don't go for it. Equal means equal. Not equal only when it is beneficial to women. I of course do not believe in equality when it comes to violence. I do not believe women should be able to be violent towards men (slap them when offended, etc) but in no case should a man hit a woman. I do wish that my wife was scared I might hit her, but she knows I won't so doesn't care. If she was a guy I could punch him in the head till he stopped (or get beatt up myself), but all I can do to her is say "shut up or....I'll say it again louder."
But as to things that are wrong being great: I would love it if my wife believed her number one job was to make me happy and it was her duty to listen to me. That would make my life great. And yes, I would abuse it. I might not believe that it is right for a women to think that way, and I will make sure my daughter never things that way at all, but I would love it if my wife did. I bet every woman would love a man that thought like that, even if they did not think it was right. I think having world dictator/tyrant is wrong but I would give all three of my testicles to have that job. And I would ban everything I do not like. Sopa Operas are gone, action rpgs are gone, country music is gone, boy bands are gone, feminin product commercials are gone, breeding without my permission is gone, etc. _________________ Vegitarian is the Indian word for lousey hunter. |

I'm getting in touch with my feminine side. I should get a sex change, then it might be all right to beat my wife. I could say "Oh no you didn't" as I shake my head in a jive like way and then pull her hair and scratch her face, and when it is over and she is frightened of my womanly prowess and respects my ability to cause her pain and therefore listens to me, we can have hot lesbian woopy that I can film and sell over the internet and make hundreds. I might have to shave my back and they would probably have to take my testicles off durring the operation so I will have nothing left to parter for the world dictator/tyrant position I covet. _________________ Vegitarian is the Indian word for lousey hunter. |

Well, maybe they'd let you keep them. You could turn them into earrings (you got three ears too?) |

im downloading music from a legal internet network!
if i ever got married it would be to a mormon girl. and Roque, youre right, i shouldnt be glum about not having so much responsibility, since i am very lucky that i have no work! but it comes at a harsh price, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders arent pleasant things to live with. but hey, im happily gaming while everybody else is working. some people say i deserve such a happy fate, seeing how i was exceedingly miserable up until now.
as for pnp, i dont have anyone to play with now. i dont have a car so i really cant go to the city, so i will just play mmorpgs and stuff. really, im losing my desire to DM more and more. i would rather be a player. but nobody around here plays. |

I've been out of the p&p scene for a long time now, so I don't know what "new" developments have taken place in the last 10 years or so...
Aren't there any ways to take advantage of the internet for long-distance RPGing? If every person involved had a broadband connection and a mic, you could set up conference calls over MSN Messenger or similar - with file sharing and/or a webcam if you need visuals.
I dunno... maybe some p&p newsgroups or web forums might have some info on how to meet and communicate with other players long-distance. Of course, you've probably already tried stuff like this... |

I've been in a PnP group on the internet. EverythingXen started and DMed the group. It was a great deal of fun. It's too bad we never finished the campaign. I'm tempted to search around myself for another group and give my cleric of Tempus another go at glory. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

See how it works Ammon? First Val tells me to tone down my posts. Next thing you know, she'll make me use my fork right. Then I can't fart in public. Then talk to her and tell her how my day has been with more than a "good" or "fine." One piece at a time they take your freedom away until your like a caged dog happy with the scraps they throw you.
Run Ammon, and leave the Mormon girls behind! For the love of God, run! And don't look back. Go to the mountains of Montana and live the peaceful and free life of a Hermit. When I can escape I'll join up with you and we'll play games all day. I'll dm if you hunt for food. _________________ Vegitarian is the Indian word for lousey hunter. |

You left yourself wide open for a comment on two guys living in the woods alone, but I'll be kind and not make it. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!
