Risk Your Life players have until November 17 to sign up for a reduced-price subscription plan and optionally get bonuses (depending on the selected plan) that include in-game precious metal and a copy of Planetwide's Comic Book Creator software. After the 17th, subscription fees will apparently return to their regular prices, but the bonuses will still be available. Additionally, although the game has been "released" for some time, they have using their beta web address for their official site ever since. Well that's all changed, as they've now got a permanent, official web address: www.ryl.net.

In our continuing efforts to offer the best value for your dollar, we have structured a new pricing plan that will allow players get even better value than what is currently available. This offer will expire on November 17, 2005 at 6 PM PST sharp!

*In addition, if you sign up for 3, 6 or 12 month plan within the NEXT 30 days, you will also receive virtual in game items AND for those who sign up for 1 year plan will also receive a copy of our brand new Comic Book CreatorŽ (See www.planetwidecomics.com)

Ever since RYL was released, they have gone through massive changes in ownership, staff, pricing and development direction.
Has anyone involved with this project ever bothered to take a basic Marketing 101 course?
NOBODY CARES. All this should have been done before releasing the game.
MMOG need to be released with a bang, working spectacularly and with all the promised bells and whistles. I always laugh when I visit the Everquest 2 webpage. They ahve this little link you can follow titled "Tons of new content added since launch!" NOBODY CARES. First impression is everything.
A few people may think "Ok, I'll give <insert game name> another try even though I did not like it after spending 50 bucks on it" and re-subscribe but a million people are not going to play RYL or EQ2 or any other game after its release because "things are getting better." |
