I haven't looked at systems specs since I got my new PC last year. Gues I should have for Morrowind. I have Hercules 3D Prophet vid card that really fubars the in-game graphics good.
How stupid. Back it goes, I guess. Shoulda known better than to pay an mind to any RPG that isn't NWN. |

What makes you think NWN will run on your system when Morrowind won't? Morrowind is not written using any special graphics engine. It uses a standard interface that all other 3d cards support in their drivers. I would suggest looking for updated drivers for your Kyro card or scrap it altogether and go buy a real video card like a Geforce 3 or Geforce 4.

It's unfortunate that games like this spoil it for the smaller companies trying to provide competition and lowered prices in the computer industry.. especially with the "just buy an nvidia card" attitude.
Anyway to get Kyro to work in Morrowind simply turn on "defed render until flip" in the display properties in Windows. |

Heh, funny. Why, I remember just a couple years ago people were saying the same thing about 3Dfx. Back then, NVidia was the "smaller company trying to provide competition and lowered prices." Then 3Dfx came out with the Voodoo3 and the end was in sight.
Don't worry. NVidia will be gone soon enough. They can't dominate the market forever. Just look what happened to 3Dfx (and IBM, if you can remember back that far). |

If I remember correctly there was a quote on the official board that there is a possible usnupported way to get it to work on Kyro cards, had something to do with changing several driver settings. The boards are currently down for me, so I cant give you a link. It was a pinned thread in the hard and software issues forum, try if you can get there.
Hope it helps. |

I have to learn not to post when upset. Makes me look like the type of people I don't like.
There might be a fix for the Kyro, but I broke down and went and got a GF3 today. Not much a fps upgrade, but it does have some bells and whistles. My brother only had a TNT2, so he was happy
I agree though, it's a shame for the non-nVidia, non-ATI vid card companies. And my wallet. |

Where are you standards, do not bow down to the evil companies. Remove the GF3 at once and mail it to me, I will destroy it for you, you would be too weak to do so.
It is for the best that you mail it to me, I will do what is right |

Yeah i was having the fubar graphics with my kyro ii at first, but i went over to the official forums and there was a fix in there. It had to do with the settings in the d3d thing. So go check that out and good luck. |
