Lockpicking is too hard and there aren't enough tools!

I have my technical skill up to 60 and it seems that I still can't pick most locks. How high does it need to be before I can get into all those doors in the city? By the way, casting bless does not boost your chances of getting a lock open like everyone claims.

Also, I thought I read that the shopkeepers restock their supplies after time. But in my game (version 1.17) they don't. As a result I'm at level 6 and I'm having a hard time finding any more tools to pick locks with.

I regret not dumping more points into stealth so I could just pickpocket everyones keys from them, too bad the damn level cap is so low in this game.

Ok, I take back what I said about there not being enough tools in the game. I hadn't met the twin traders yet. Can anyone tell me how to open all the doors in the city?

Doors

Fear not. After you have cleared the city of Yliseds, and destroyed the meteor, you should be able to open more doors. As you increase intelligence the technical and object knowledge go up as well. Just be patient, and keep trying every now and then as you play the main and side quests out. I even opened the door to the outside world by the end of the game. I won't tell you what happened, but if you get to that point, save first. There is no coming back.

Really? I haven't heard anyone talk about the door to outside yet?
How do you open it? Is lockpicking the only way? If so, then what level was your tech. skill at?

Outside door

I don't think I picked it, if I remember right. I had finished the game and went back to a save just before the last battle. I went and killed everyone in the entire place, just to get all their stuff, I was next to hightest level by then, and if I remember, I used a key I got off either the King or maybe the wizard in the castle. Anyway it was a cool experience. Try it. But be sure you have saved first, as you cannot finish the game once that door is open.
