Ouch! Such distain for our wisdom here...
If you leave the keep before hearing a big "gong" sound (this sound signals a completed quest), you're bugged and the quest will never finish. That's the only bug- there's no bugs associated with the doors. You must "put out" all 8 imp portals, which entails killing 4 (IIRC) imps as they emerge from the portal, which looks like a fireplace.
Which big door remains closed for you? If you're talking about the "front door" of the keep, that will unlock once the quest completes. If you're talking about a double-wide wooden door, you will find two switches on the second floor, one to either side of the door. Push both. That will open up a panel near the door on ground level. Flip that switch and the wooden door will slide. It turns out to be a double door, but you will figure that problem out for yourself pretty easily. Going thru those sliding doors, combined with clearing all 8 portals, will fire the Uber-Imp script.
So there, Gish. Who needs another board? _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

I just meant there weren't many M&M fans here...especially of MM9 _________________ "It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible." |

Guilty as charged... Once he gets past the third town, I won't be able to help anymore, since that's the point where my frustration with the game overcame my desire to play. Worse yet, Lintra's going to be scarce here for some time- he's the only regular here I know of that actually finished the game. Long term, your recommendation of the other board for MM9 is a good one. Now, for MM4 thru 8, there's no need to go anywhere... _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

I actually finished MM9 but strangely ran into no major bugs, and only one or two minor ones... so I guess I'm not much help with bugs _________________ "It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible." |

@dteowner - I am glad you have MM8 covered I only went through once, at very high velocity ... I think it took me a little under 2 weeks of pretty casual gaming to finish. Compared to MM6 which took me six week of intense, grueling play to get through ... or MM7 which I played through about 4 times (the first pass took 4 weeks of medium intense gaming - later passes took less long). _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

@Gish- you are hereby nominated as resident MM9 expert!
@Lintra- I've only finished MM8 once (I've gotten around 1/2 way thru a couple other times). I think I can probably do it justice, although my memory of it is rather bad. Actually, MM8 was the first RPG I ever completed without any outside help (no guides, no internet), so I'm hoping others will find it easy and not ask too many questions about it. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

@dteowner - I think it was waaayyyy too easy, so we probably won't have any problems there. Most of the discussions I've read on other boards have to with how to get the highest score in 8 .. not how to finish it.
@Gish - Being the only other person here to finish 9, I bow to you and will let you field those questions. My memory of the game is rapidly fading. Thank the gods for small favors _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=
