The counter is reset if you reload, so you have to add the things you repeat!
My first turn took me 45 hours plus reloads and I didnīt explore everything. I can understand if somebody spends 70 hours exploring this world, but 100 hours seems a bit too optimistic to me. Well, actually the German publisher said nothing about 100 hours and multiple endings.

Another point is that most other RPGs tend to waste many hours of time for inventory management, while Gothicīs autosorted inventory system is very fast! So hours of game play is no valid criterion for the quality of a game, if a game is beyond a certain length.
IMO Gothic isnīt too short, itīs 5 hours too long for this story!

If you play each of the camps, its like 27 hours.

Throw in mabe 20 hours of cheats, and youre all set...

When someone writes 100+ hours of gameplay, every normal player will think - so if I start this game, I will finish it after 100 - not I will start this game, after I will finish it, I will start it again with slightly different story and if I try everything possible, it will be 100 hours.
Gothic is great game, there is no reason to promote it with lies such as 100+ hours of gameplay, multiple endings etc.

Yeah, that "multiple endings" bit really burns me more than anything. Namely, because multiple endings (as a result of multiple second-half storylines) would have made the game SOOO much cooler than it already is.

Ok, I think that everyone gets the point that Gothic should not have lied. But they almost had to- it was that multiple endings and 100+ hours lie that made me buy it. Although those turned out to not be true, the game is great otherwise, but I wouldn't have bought it without those lies. Stretching the truth has always been neccisary (I can't spell that damn word) in getting a game to sell, so we can't blame them for it.

A whaddaya is a cousin of the Khorinis "King Kong" troll species.

i would call it, "speculating" or "curiosity"
not really complaining, i mean it was a great game, so who cares right? if they 'didnt' say 100 hours, would it make gothic any better? hmm?
