is there a way to get higher resolutions

my monitor (17" TFT) has a native 1280x1024 resolution, but morrowind only goes up to 1280x968. Is there a way to get higher resolutions for morrowind? Looked in the .ini file but didn't find it there.

Optimal reoslution for 17" monitor is 1024*768. And when you push every graphics settings to max with that resolution, the game already start to slowdown even on a high end systems. What kind of supercomputer you got?

I got a VERY fast system if you must know. And I realize upping the resolution will make it slower, but I have a 17" TFT (not CRT!) which runs at a 1280x1024 resolution and using something lower causes the image to stretch or to be compressed (thus not using the whole screen). I run almost all my games at 1280x1024 without a problem. Strange thing is, resolutions only seem to go up to 1280x968, nothing more...

17" TFT? pull out documentations that came with the hardware, check any special driver for the monitor, its optimal resolution, and with that kind of high resolution - make sure that the refresh rate is 72 - 75 or above.

Make sure video card driver is latest, installed properly and adjust the setting correctly - refer to the hardware's manual if needed.

Find out whether Morrowind really supporting the resolution you wanted, just in case..

I play at 1600*1200. So option does not end with 1280*968, however it seems that MW does not support 1280*1024, only 1280*968. It ussually shows only resolutions you can use. So 1280*968 is highest resolution you can use. I doubt you can change it. 1024*768 or 1280*968 are only choices

I was able to fix it by modifying the registry entries

I believe normal resolutions are supported up to 2048x1800. You can set every resolution you want in the registry.
