online morrowind
   

when i played gothic i heard a lot of people saying gothic was gonna be a MMRPG..

now i'm playing morrowind and hearing the same thing, so i was just wondering if anyone knows for sure if it is or not?

i may sound like a tard for not knowing but...

They must have been talking about the user-designed content (plug-ins) available, cuz MW is not and never will be an online game.

i guess thats what it was.. but it would be pretty cool i guess if bethesda decided to do something like that, even if it wasnt with this elder scroll game...

An MMORPG needs to be designed from the ground up to be one - it's pretty unlikely that Bethesda could turn Morrowind into an online game.

The focus of such games is very different too - usually the landscapes are bland and uninteresting, and the focus of the game is just hitting enemies repeatedly until they fall over. A game like Morrowind succeeds because the player is the center of attention - all the NPCs act towards you, every dungeon you enter is being entered supposedly for the first time. Can't do that with a MMORPG.

For me this is no big problem - I like offline games a lot more than online ones, and prefer richness of world and experience over having lots of other people around any day.
