From the general response, I think I am glad I have never heard that Ketchup song.

Right now: Deicide: Deicide first album (i always like to start at the beginning)

Which is a suprising step in a new direction for me, its kinda weird. Ive always been against the new"Death/Black Metal" double-bass laden, roaring demonic vocals, redundantly satanic content as just crude lame shiite. Dont get me wrong, i love metal, but Im from the old school of Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Mercyful Fate, etc. So when Deicide and all that started hitting the scene i was like "What the hell is this crap? I cant even tell what they are saying, its one big roar.." and i rejected it. About 6 months ago I read a review of Cradle of Filth and decided to try it out. First few listens were a little rough, but then suddenly really got into it. Its just so utterly harsh and disturbing. Totally nihilistic, unforgiving, unapologetic and final. And the bass blasts! Its like thunder, Ive never heard anything like it. So now Ive totally been reconsidering my stance on Death Metal and have turned on to one of the granddaddys of the genre, Deicide.

There are so many of them, and some of them just look flat out ridiculous. Like Cannibal Corpse. I listened to a sample of them in the store and read the lyrics and it just wasnt me. Im not into "Puke and Die"
death metal, that stuff just seems almost comical, I found myself cracking up at the redundant gore and sickness. THis store is HUGE and they are almost all metal, so there are ROWS AND ROWS of death/black metal. I dont know where to start! Im impressd with Deicide so far, and i love Cradle of Filth. Can I get a good Death/Black metal suggestion or two? Something like Cradle, maybe some female vocals like they use at times. Or like Deicide, they are quasi-satanic, yet they arent just utterly drenched in it, some bands are just so redundant about it it gets stupid, or they have just truly disgusting gore. Any suggestions of GOOD death metal?
Has anyone tried Mayhem? Dark Angel? Dark Throne?

Hmm...I guess I'll go check out Vivaldi Antonio's Spring 1. Just made me think of my music disappreciation class from college

When I'm in a bad mood I say that any music written after 1860 sucks.

Nooo, sauron38 !
My favorites are the turn-of-the-century composers like Ralph Vaughn Williams. His Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis is just perfect.

umm i repented from that stuff, so i dont listen to it anymore (i listen to techno-trance music now), but since you really want to know, the best band i ever heard is technical death metal group called Suffocation, and another "good" one (or bad one, that is) would be Morbid Angel. But i dont listen to that crap anymore, its bad for you.
