Ahum. Other than game specific sites, I don't frequent any RPG forums besides this one on RPGDot. Not that I would know of other ones anyway.
You might want to try a newsgroup, namely comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg - I suggest a dedicated newsreader like Forte Agent, your browser probably has built in functions as well. For basic reading etc. you can just visit the google groups.

Well, the school year just started, so some of us are a little busy.

Somehow I manage to spend 2-3 hours a day at least here at the Dot Forums, so there IS quite a lot of activity. Have you joined any usergroups here? Each game company has its own boards and they are often worth a visit too, though many of the people from there also visit here regularly, as this is THE place to be for RPG's!!

Just like dear Corwin I find myself spending way too much time here, but I guess some of the usergroups are more active than the mainboards.

My other most frequented board (not CRPG) has a somewhat fewer number of users and a little bit more activity going on. BUT: it has a significantly higher number of bans-per-month, even though users are rather civilized for the population of a message board of this kind (if not as civil as here)...

I wonder why it is that RPGDot is so civilized? I mean, we are soon 7000 members, although a fairly small amount are active, and a large amount of those I never come across since they lurk in the game sections. But still, I get a comforting feeling here.

Edith, Jaz I think your sig-pic died.

The other generic rpg board i visit is ironworks. I dont know the url atm.

I found both this one and that one when I was looking for wizardry 8 hints.

There is also rpg codex but it is not very active at all, and it also has the negative fallout people that are also using the interplay boards.

Are you not kept busy showing Reflexive the error of their ways on the Interplay boards, Kabduhl?

For a flamey good time I spend a lot of time on the official D&D boards.

Not in the computer game section, though... it's dead as a post.

Nothing perks you up like reading a 65 page flame war on how much bards suck or seeing three hundred topics on how 'elves aren't as good as they're portrayed by Tolkien... wtf WOTC?'.

You meant the board here are more civilized? Well, i guess civilized or not is rather relative when camparing or depend on different people. I think i joined here because it's not that civilized actually ... . At least 1-2 years back there were some flaming, dirty, wild threads popping up now and then that made me laugh or grinning... (i guess i'm corrupted & evil enough to enjoy those kind of threads ...... ).

The more civilized forums i encounter so far is the JustAdventure forums, and Vivendi HL2 forums.

P.S - good CRPGs forums (in no particular order):
- Atari TOEE forums
- BIS/Interplay forums
- Bioware forums
- Adrenaline Vault forums
- TTLG forums (Through the Looking Glass)
- Bethesda forums
- IGN-RPG Vault forums

Somehow i found the forums at GameSpy & GameSpot is pretty useless (no offend to people who like the forums). Why? seem to have too many young posters and most are unable to express an interesting and good opinions/informations when discussing games...

For a game specific board, I would have to say the most active one is the morrowind boards. It is too active to follow for me.

Aint that the truth. I swear you could leave those forums for an hour, come back and have 100 new posts to read. They're incredibly popular ( and at times, really slow -- which I why I don't frequent there).
