No, not a copy of the game but the whole game, rights, source-code - the works - is up for sale. Here's the message from the <a href="http://www.pharaoh-productions.com/demise/news.php" target="_blank">Pharaoh Productions</a> site:<blockquote><em>The well-known cult-classic single and multi-player RPG "DEMISE" has been posted for sale by Seattle-based MakeItSo Software. DEMISE is the next evolution of the original classic game MORDOR.
<br>
<br>A product completed in 2000 and created by David Allen, the original creator of HORIZONS, and DOMINION, it allows nearly unlimited gameplay and is held by many as the most addictive dungeon crawl ever created. With nearly a decade of character progression, balanced data, and repetitive gameplay supportive systems and algorithms, this product can easily serve as the foundation of a completely new product, or even as a stepping stone to a rewrite for integrating the latest gaming technologies.
<br>
<br>It is still selling even today with no marketing or advertising; solely by word of mouth.
<br>
<br>The sale includes everything that is DEMISE. This includes all intellectual property, which includes but is not limited to source code for the game and servers and utilities, the DEMISE website, community forums, and the DEMISE membership database of individuals who have purchased the product.
<br>
<br>The purchase price has not yet been defined. The companys goal is to announce the sale, and consider all offers. If you have an interest in purchasing DEMISE or have any questions about what is included, please feel free to contact us at <a href="mailto:demise@makeitso.net" target="_blank">demise@makeitso.net</a></em></blockquote> |

Word of mouth doesn't sell IPs, so perhaps that's why they put out a fake report on an expansion. |

I personally thought the game was very mediocre and I hated not being able to save!! Anyone want to buy my original CD and Manual!! _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

I didn't hate Demise and I actually kind of enjoyed it, even though its repetitive. Demise reminded me of a modernized MUD or a Dungeon Hack, Rogue or Ancient Domains of Mystery type of game. That's not a bad thing, but it certainly isn't pushing the envelope. But it's not that bad of a game, especially if you like something that gives you lots of hours of gameplay.
Personally I'd like to see this game move to freeware and become the type of community that DROD (Deadly Rooms of Death) has become.
