I think most of the game suggestions would be veery enjoyable. I personally went for P:T2. So I guess I'm going to hell.

I was drunk when i posted :/

Can i re-do my vote?

Seeing as how the game ended, a second couldn’t possibly be made with The Nameless One, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be a new story in Sigil!
I tell you what, if I ever make millions of dollar writing novels I’ll start up a videogame company just so we can all go back to The Cage.

And if you loved PS:T, go try to find a book called Pages of Pain, by Troy Denning. It’s out of print but maybe you can find a used one.

EDIT: I’ve got it! It just hit me! An MMORPG in SIGIL!!!
If I ever do become rich from writing I am going to try to get that created!

I voted for "Other" - specifically Gothic IX. By dreaming about Gothic IX I imply that the Gothic series has lasted a VERY long time .

I have the book it's really great but I think that they still print it. And I wish you luck with your writing carrier. And making another rpg in Sigil would be a noble deed

I want Baldurs Gate 3, except it has got to drop the Infinity engine for a new 3d engine (maybe even liscensed) but NOT like NWN, which sucks imo. My dream version of BG3 would have a world three times the size of Morrowind and more than 500 different kinds of creatures to fight. And the NPCs will all be artificial intelligences that engage in activities and have schedules, ect, NOT like Morrowind where they have no brain. And BG3 has got to be far less linear than its former ones, like make it so i could go anywhere in the Forgotten Realms and even into Outer or Inner Planes -- this is really wishful thinking, but... YOU ASKED ME!

Maybe they could make BG3 on the "Knights of the Old Republic" engine (I forgot its name). I have no idea how it looks with interface onscreen, but those shots that I've seen are really nice.

But, no really, have anyone heard smth about a possibility of making BG3? It wouldn't be bad... But Outer Planes ARE wishful thinking, that's for sure

I think Lionheart is effectively the new BG3 project. Although i could be wrong, they (Black Isle) probably released the last of the Infinity legacy games (BG, BG2, ID) with Icewind Dale 2. I doubt they will make a Baldurs Gate 3, since the story pretty much ended in Throne of Bhaal (i saw it), and there is no hook to keep the story going. Actually, I was hoping they would make an effective BG3 in the form of a NEW D&D CRPG. Something in the Forgotten Realms and something that uses a superior 3d engine, even the one, like you said, they are developing for KotOR, which looks awesome.

Someone might even have Dungeons and Dragons Online in pre-alpha planning, which would be good only if they included most of the Faerun on the worldmap, lol, j/k... Although that would be very cool. They would have to get with the ball and implement stuff that other MMORPGs have not done yet, for it to be a real success. The genre is getting better, albeit slowly and painfully. We are seeing only the very beginnings with these types of games. In 5 years we will probably have photo-realistic graphics, and then developers will start concentrating on creating better gameplay. But by far, the most diverse and large worlds will always be in MMORPGs, which is the main reason i play them and pay for continued development every month. The prospects of the PC gaming future look very promising to me. I am really looking forward to Star Wars Galaxies, EVE Online, KoToR, Gothic2, Lionheart, and lots of other games in lots of other genres (the only genres i do not like are anything on consoles and sports games). There you have it, Ammon's speculation. Surprisingly though, i am sometimes in the right.

And I agree with you that Knights of the Old Republic is looking to be a very good game. Its got great graphics from what i have seen, and maybe it'll be a cross between Jedi Outcast (very cool game) and Star Wars Galaxies, only its single-player...

EDIT -- changed a mistyped numeral

Yep. IWD2 was the last Infinity game. They said it in one of the press statements. Lionheart is my number one anticipated game! I pray for it to be worth waiting!

Sure No, wait! Then I wouldn't live my real life anymore. No! No! Somebody stop THEM from developing D&D MMORPG!!!

Honestly, that's what scares me a bit... I mean a possiblity of KotOR to be very fight-oriented. I heard that Bioware devotes more time these days to console projects... Consoles never had great RPGs, and if Bioware will make KotOR console-like... Well, it will be bad.

But Jedi Outcast IS a great game. As in GREAT great

A D&D MMORPG wouldn’t work, you’d hit the level cap too quick. And if there was no level cap people would just plain get too strong. Imagine a fighter/mage that could buff himself to 500 hit points, a THACO of -30, and can cast two dozen level 9 spells. Now imagine what it would be like if that player was a greifer.

BTW Loinheart isn’t really being developed by Black Isle, they are just consulting on the project.

I dont think they will make KotOR console-like. I am fairly sure that they wouldnt do that, because they know what WE like, and we like computer games -- not all of us are console fans. I dont like consoles. Those games arent sophisticated at all, they dont have the depth i enjoy, and they dont require any brains to play. Consoles are for kids; computer games are for adults.

Roach, they would have to redesign and basically totally mutilate the official rules for a Dungeons & Dragons Online game. You are correct that it wont work unless they did that. What they will probably do (if they ever do a game like this) is have the game setting familiar in Forgotten Realms or where-ever, just so its D&D-like, put in the skills, proficiencies, and spells (ect) from the official rules, add an assortment of monsters from the Monster Manual, and then effectively destroy all other elements of the official rules. It would have the name-sake D&D logo, but i agree with Roach that there is no possible way to make a D&D game with their current rules. It would be impossible unless they were free to change those rules. Third Edition D&D rules are for, well, single-player games and table-top games with a few people; it was not designed for an MMORPG with 1 million people. However, i suspect that computer games had a lot to do with the 3rd Edition rulesystem as it now is. They knew that their rules would be used in computer games.
