Ultima Online Price Increase

Ultima Online will become more expensive to play, according to this message at the official site:

Ultima Online Service Rate Change Information

The Ultima Online monthly service rate will change from $9.95 per month to $12.99 per month on June 25, 2003. At the same time we’re also introducing the following two multi-month discount packages, which will be available on June 25th:
3 Month Prepaid Discount Package — $34.99
6 Month Prepaid Discount Package — $59.99
By choosing our new 6-month discount package, you can keep your monthly rate at $9.99 per month — maintaining your rate where it is right now!

Starting today, you can visit www.ultima-registration.com to choose your new monthly discount package by following these easy steps:
Select EDIT ACCT, enter your user name and password, and click NEXT.
Click on EDIT ACCT at the top of the screen.
Click on the EDIT button next to Billing Information.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a drop down menu with the two new multi-month pricing plans listed next to the billing plan tab. Select the plan that you wish to sign up for and click NEXT.
On the Account Summary page, in the Subscription Plan field, you will now see your current pricing plan on the top and the new plan you have chosen at the bottom (effective on your first billing cycle following June 25th). If you have already applied additional Game Time™ or promotional codes to your account, you may see another entry between your current and newly selected billing plans. These codes will be applied to your account in the order that they are listed in the subscription plan section (current plan, additional codes, new billing plan). If at any time you wish to choose a different pricing plan, simply repeat the directions above.

For more information, or additional details on making your selection, click here!

Note: All current retail game time cards will be accepted.
Nobody likes a price increase, but most of us will agree that it was forseeable...

...it's a 6 year old game...

it's a 6 year old game...
...and as good as it is, people are starting to look for more up to date MMORPGs.

I don't know if it's a good long term choice for EA.

we'll see the future.

ps: it's not really fair to increase their price just 3 months after the release of AOS, without any announcement...
