A GeForce3 should work fine in Morrowind. Probably no point in upgrading at this time - if I were you I'd wait for Doom3 to come out, then buy the biggest card you can afford then.
Personally I'm playing perfectly fine on a GeForce256, and I know of a lot of people playing on hardware around the GeForce2MX mark. This is all my opinion (naturally!) but if I were you I'd wait until you actually try the game out, and decide whether you need to upgrade after you've seen how it runs. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

I agree completely with cfmdobbie. I'm using a GF3ti200 (128MB) and have excellent performance. Save your money for now! _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

I"ve been considering morrowwind for awhile now. Does it handle like daggerfall? Is the interface easy to use?

Don't get too excited. You will likely be disapointed. _________________ "You two are a regular ol' Three Musketeers." |

At the very beginning I was disappointed with Morrowind (more or less after Gothic), mainly due to "robotic" nature of npcs. But I get used to it pretty quickly. Morrowind turned out to be fantastic and very long game with !incredible! detailed world, history, characters, books and many more. Add to this - plugins, recently announced expansion pack, good graphics & sound. And excellently made weather conditions, sunsets...... If you like to get drawn deeply in the game, get it. If not, don't get it. _________________ --=Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=--

Think Daggerfall without the bigs The interface is very easy to use, very intuitive, uses the same basic config as an FPS, so it's very easy.
Now, Morrowind isn't "disapointing" if you know what you're getting into, I'm sorry. This game is still one of the best RPGs there are out there. Although if you're not so much into open endedness in your games and ike to have a focused story then this game might not exactly be for you. _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

Thanks for the opinions. I"m playing gothic but don't like the quest setup. For those of you who don't play, gothic has quests that you can deviate from but in order to advance (armour, better weapons, etc.) you really have to follow a linear progression; and theere are only a few main charactors that you can converse with and get any nongeneric response. From what i've heard morrowwind is more like daggerfall in regards to quests.

I don't find an endless number of optional dreary quests that don't advance the story to be superior gameplay. _________________ "You two are a regular ol' Three Musketeers." |

Well, I never said Morrowind has superior gameplay. But freedom in an RPG is always a plus for me, and for many gamers. Maybe non-linearity is just not your cup of tea Jung
Yes, the quest structures are a bit like Daggerfall's, although it's a bit more refined. Dialogues are like Daggerfall too, which isn't a very good thing though... Very generic. I would venture to say that if you liked Daggerfall despite its many, many flaws and bugs, then I'm sure you'll love Morrowind. _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

I've never played earlier games (arena and daggerfall), but I quite often play morrowind just for fun recently - go here and there, improve some skills, visit some places, do some completely not important stuff etc... In meantime I study history of Tamriel world form books and places. I don't recall a single game that I played this way. I hope Arx Fatalis will be similar to Morrowind... _________________ --=Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=--

Me too These days I play just to explore, trying to look everywhere. The scenery is so diversified that it's always a joy just to walk/run around and explore without so much as a specific goal in mind.
I doubt Arx will have Morrowind's open endedness though... Maybe our European/German counterparts could answer that better since some of them can already play it _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

In the past i've been distant about games that call themselves "roleplay" but then push you into a plot line that offers few choices about how to procede. Personally i prefer table top games (with right GM) since they allow much wider range of options at any point. Every now and again i like a "shoot em up" type of game but don't call that roleplaying.
