The Fall: German Patch 1.2 Released |
|
Silver Style has released a second German patch for 'The Fall'. There's a full and an update version (from 1.1) available. The patch fixes display and performance problems (ATI 9700), missing texts have been added and a D3D issue has been addressed, too. |

Unfortunately, the pay-rate doesn't really cover weekends, as well.
Send us an email and we'll get the info more reliably than a comment in the forums. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

Pay!!! I thought you would do this pro.bono out of love for rpgs. Dosen't really matter anyway as the game is far below what was originally promised,as usual. Now you even have this lead dev. boasting how his game was awarded 83% by some mediocre game magazine.Sad when you know yourself that what you're defending is there for all the poor slobs, myself included, who bought the game to see for themselves.I really don't know who he thinks he's kidding.Germans have a hard time apologizing for their mistakes anyway. |

Just in case anyone does misinterpret...we are all volunteers at RPGDot.
@Methusala - do you not think The Fall has any redeeming qualities, assuming the bugs were fixed? _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

I was just joking about the pay btw.
Yes it has some redeeming qualities, just not as many as the devs and some fanboys would like the as yet undecided public to think.Go to the forums,if you haven't got the game, and read what the dis-satisfied players have to say.Don,t read only what the devs and their followers have to say.
Dhruin, you said yourself in one of your posts that you were happy that it was not linear.Well,it is linear. You have to do the quests the way they were written and although you can travel around, theres nothing to do unless you initiate a quest excactly the way the devs wrote it.
The graphics are just terrible. The camera is all over the place and the steering of chars takes some getting used too.The AI of npcs and animals is almost non-existent.You can go into a herd of deer and slaughter then all and not one will move away. The discussions between your party of chars is laughable at best and down right stupid at worst. If you play for a couple of hours you can become a profi in at least 4 different categories...way to easily. |

That is very unfortunate. I am sick of games where all they do is make something decent looking but on the inside it is garbage...it especially irks me when game designers come up with these odd interfaces that don't make much sense when the isometric format has been around for ages and has been done well many times.
It being a German import I'm sure soemthing would be lost in translation in the first place, and if it has these flaws looks like there is not much point to it. |
