|
i really really hope that gothic 3 will be on the sandbox engine for you out there that dont know thats cryteks farcry engine
i think theres no other engine that looks amazingly good (if u have the beast to run it) as sandbox and its actually really good for gothic with the capebility to boast huge landscape with tons of models with indoor and outdoor equally as good and they both are german companys il hope theyl make use of that |

Hey there kazuma,
Welcome to the forums,
This "new" engine has been briefly mentioned before somewhere, but i must admit it sounds good.
About the powerful aspect, it will surely "see-off" some of us with low spec'
pc-machines but i suppose progress must go on. _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

I never thought about it, but The CryTek engine would be a nice choice for Gothic 3. It would make the game more convincing, and it would allow the worlds to be bigger. _________________ OMG! WTF?! MONKEYS!!!!

Yeah, size isn't everything (cough)
Gameplay is the key, if by utilising the power of the Crytek engine, the game-play and storyline are more "saturated" then progress must go forward (even if it means 1000,000 pc-machines go out of the window)
Many a good looking (graphically) game has gone by the wayside because of the lack of storyline involvement. _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

Welocome to the forums.
I changed the thread title. Now itīs no longer misleading.
The decision about the engine was probably made about a year ago. Itīs more than doubtful an engine without a shipped title at that time was considered. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
