What's the secret? I cannot get the option to do this anywhere, though I'm talking to the proper folks. How are any of you managing this pedestrian feat, if at all? Is there a dialog option, because all I ever see is 'persuasion' and 'barter' from inkeepers, nothing about getting a room. What am I missing? Oh, and the same for healing, even in temples (including one I've joined) no one offers 'healing'. I've been to three towns already... |

Thanks, but the point of my post is that in TAVERNS (or inns or hostels) I CANNOT do this. I'm wondering what exactly is the mechanic (dialog option? Pressing 'T'??) that others have used to successfully rent a room, because I can't do it. I know I'm talking to the right folks, because other NPC's identify whom to ask...

Renting a bed isn't a menu choice like Barter. It's in the list of stuff that you would click to get more information. Just scroll down and click "Bed" and they'll tell you their price and you can choose to rent a room. It will then be unlocked and you can use it for 24 in game hours.

there arent beds for rent at the first town you're in. I don't want to put spoilers anywhere but here is a general idea: in the town you're in, ask people about "services" - they will say if anyone rents beds. Go to where they say and talk to the innkeeper - he or she will say something about "I also rent -beds-" with the word beds being a keyword you can click on. When you click on it they will name the price and you can say yes or no, say yes and pay the price, and they will tell you which room the bed is in. Go there, and point the crosshairs at the bed and press the SPACE BAR, and you will get the rest dialog. Note this is different from resting outdoors where you press "T", if you press "T" in a the tavern bedroom you will get the "resting here is illegal, rent a bed" message. |
