I edited the ini file of Gothic 2 and changed the resolution to 640x480 16bit(not available in game settings) and zNearFogScale=0.5 rather then 1 as well as zFarFogScale=0.5. By doing this, I am now able to play the game intown at 300% view at decent frame rates. Before making these changes, running it at 80% view was about equivlent to the 300% I have it set at now with the changes. The only problem now is getting the text to fit on screen properly during conversations. If anyone can figure this out, please do tell. By the way, I have a 1 gig cpu with 768 meg ram and a geforce 2. Also like to note, when exiting the game and restarting it, it resets back to 800x600. |

Try it for yourself, it does work. You'll notice the menu will fit the entire screen rather then bordered when its at 800x600. Also, the text during gameplay is quite larger. As well as the fact that it plays alot smoother which was the reason for me bringing it up. |
