There's a switch on a wall in upper MB. It's in the northeast corner of the fort. That section of upper MB can only be accessed from a portion of lower MB that can only (at least originally) be accessed from the mine tunnels. Once you've flipped that switch, go to the rapax crusher and look around. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Yes, you should find it there. It was most difficult "quest" (not fight) area for me. I searched and searched and search for yours and still there was no Martens idol.
Then I used map from walktrought, there was arrow saying here it is. But I was not able to find my way there...
And then finaly I had it in my hands and then... (ach, you will see). |

As Danicek says, getting the idol is about the closest you'll get to "rat in a maze". You must do certain things in a certain order to make it work. The game does a pretty good job of leading you thru the correct sequence. I think the idol hunt catches a lot of players off guard since Wiz8 is so non-sequential. The contrast gives you mental whiplash. I was fortunate that the first time I played, I stumbled thru the back door (mine tunnels) before ever seeing the front door (via swamp). I think that makes it easier to determine where to go. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Yah. and many people don't notice that Z'ant has two doors, both open with the same key, (one doesn't look like a door) so there's already a way between the Elevator and the main part...And the opening the trapdoor is a must, too, if you want to move freely between the Teleporter and the Swamp, before anybody can cast Portals. |

in the last umpani mission you get a pulse pick from general Yamir - so you can go through the elevator room and open the door with the message "nothing happens" with the pulse pick.
this is an alternative to the way through the mines. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild= |

There's a Pulse Pick in the area you get to from the Mine Tunnels, too, that's what i meant by 'key'. I'm usually in LMB before i go to the Umpanis, bcuz their Teleporter is much handier. But it's pretty nice of SirTech to give us so many ways... |
