Whenever I go into my inventory or look at the text of an item on the ground, the text "flickers" and wierd things pop up (only when looking at text though).
Any suggestions?
WIN2k
GeForce 2 Ultra
(also, I have the "smooth edges of screen fonts" option enabled in windows, could this have something to do with it?) |

A driver problem. GeForce cards shouldn´t make trouble with Gothic.

The simple answer is, yes, it could be almost anything. If you have searched in this forum for similar problems, you will have found people who changed from Win2K to another OS and suddenly the problems went away. Some have had NO problems at all. Try everything (but try changing drivers first).

Hmmm...changing video drivers isn't exactly a fun ordeal, and I don't feel like doing just for one game. Plus I prefer to have the latest drivers. Changing OS is also not an option. Thx for your suggestions, if you think of anything else i'm listening. |

Changing video drivers is nothing more than 30 s download + 30 s autoinstalling + one restart...
You should do it. I suggest download latest drivers form http://www.nvidia.com (because you said in other threat that you have Asus drivers) - of course only if you are not using some special abilities of your card (if it has some - something like 3D glasses etc.).

I do have the latest drivers from Nvidia (this was my first post Danicek, maybe some1 has a similar name). I have win2k and a GeForce 2 Ultra. The game looks fine for the most part, it's just text (and the accompanying pictures) in the inventory that look strange. |
