I am having a really funky problem with Morrowind's display outdoors. It looks as though there is water everywhere up to my chest, no matter where I travel, it always stays around my chest. My video card is a Hercules Prophet 4500, and I have the latest drives. Is there any possible way to fix this other than buying a new vid card???
BTW, indoors everything is completely fine. |

First of all, the Kyro chipset is not supported for Morrowind, but some users have found a way to get some of the Kyro cards to work on their machines.
Try this fix at your own risk:
1) Right-click on your desktop and select Properties
2) Select "Settings" then "Advanced" then "3D Optimisation"
3) Create a new profile for Morrowind (using the small arrow pointing to the right). Call the profile name "Morrowind" and the exe name "morrowind.exe"
4) Tick "Defer Render Until Flip"
5) Press OK and exit the control panel.
AND/OR
Go to the menu for your card under "3D-Optimisation" and then under the Direct 3D tab select Custom.. now click on the Enable External Depth/Stencil Buffer and make sure that all 3 checkboxes under it are marked enabled..
The manufacturer is aware of the problem and is working on an updated driver to address it.

I had the same problem with my Hercules 4500, tried various fixes that did not work, then went out and bought a new card. |

Thanks for the help, it worked... but I still might just go out and buy a Geforce 3 anyway. |
