Need help in castle

Okay, I have completed the test of faith and all the respect missions. I have spoken to Diego and he sent me to Thorus. I spoke to Thorus and he said I could go talk to Gomez. I entered the castle but now I am having two problems:

1. There are many chests/doors that I cannot pick open. I do not have the picklock skill but always before have been able to get the 'click' and eventually get something open. In the castle most of the time it doesn't matter whether I use left or right, the picklock just breaks. Do I need the skill to open things in the castle?

2. I cannot speak to Gomez. As soon as I initiate the conversation he draws his sword and kills me!

My last good save is quite a ways back so I hope there is an easy solution.

1. You need the key.
2. Sounds like a bug. Reload an older save and talk to Gomez before you steal anything.

Thanks Gorath. I reloaded from an earlier save and this time I went straight to Gomez after leaving Thorus. That worked. I also went and learned lockpicking from Fingers but that was apparently a waste of skill points so I will probably reload again. You say I need a key. Is that for chests as well as doors? For instance, what about the chest in the room above Gomez with the bathing woman? Can you give me a hint as to where or when I can find the key?

Lockpickicking only increases your chance not to break the pick on a a mistake.
You need a key if neither l nor r works. The bath babe belongs to Gomez.
