Sound errors and questions

I have a question reguarding the sound...

I am using a crappy on board sound card, and sometimes there are sound errors.

Particularly during the cutscenes when the camera flys around the room, the volume varies so much , sometimes i cannot even hear them speaking.
I did turn off the EAX but it is still strange, sound effects stop and start randomly.

This is still cool because the game rocks, but my only question is, : Would it be worth it to buy a new soundcard, i mean, how good is the sound with a decent card?

I have a SoundBlaster Audigy and I get the same errors. Now that I think about it, I got the errors a lot in the beginning, but the latest patch made it a lot better, or at least it seemed to.

To fix that you need to install the latest EAX unified driver. You can toggle the installation of it in the CD's autorun window thingy.
