| Why Won't My Ignite Spell Work? |
|
i'VE GOT THE RUNES AND SPELL IN MAGIC BOOK. i USE CTRL, LEFT MOUSE BUTTON POINT TO TORCH OR FIRE - BUT NO IGNITION.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

First, did you put the runes in the spell book and not just in your inventory? If they are in your inventory, they need to be made active by using F key as you hover mouse over them. After that you hold Left Ctrl button, and while holding it down, draw the two rune symbols in the air by holding down the Left mouse button. You will hear the spell and see the marks being made. Do it with the spell book open, point to the ignite spell, the runes needed will appear in the upper R cornor of the screen, and if you draw it right the rune symbol will get a halo effect around it. You don't need to point to the thing you are igniting, if it is in range of the spell, it will light. Hope this helps. If not then we will try again.

Thanx for your help - I tried that, although that is what I was doing but it still doesn't work. Any other ideas hun

Unless your mana level is 0 it should work. If not maybe a big bug in installation. I assume you just started the game, so you may want to reinstall. Did you download the latest patch? I don't think it has any bearing on this problem, but I thought I would remind you for future problems. I had to reinstall the first time I got it to get it to work right as well. Personally I would try that first, but if you want you could try the tech. thread on this forum first and see if they have any ideas. I'm sure you will really enjoy the game if you get it going right. I haven't heard of anyone not being able to get it up and going. Post how you solve it, for the next guy. Sorry I couldn't give you more help.

This is basic to the game and comes right away, so I still say reinstall. Are you getting the colors of the markings as you draw the spell? If you are following the directions you have major problem and should just delete and reinstall. I don't know any reason for it that can be fixed. Keep us posted.

re-installed started a new game - still not working. Can't think why.
I press ctrl, hold left mouse button and go left to right but the right runes don't appear.
HELP!!!!!!

Hey! I finaly realised what I was doing wrong. I'm such a dappo. didn't realise you had to actually copy the way the rune was marked.
