What you are looking at is probably an exit from the statue chamber. To find the entrance, you need to get through the "maze of lost souls" (if I am not mistaken about the name). Just explore the available area and be prepared for pulling many many levers.

Levers (Major Spoiler)

Do you have a map? If so the sequence of the levers is on the map, but I take it you don't or you wouldn't ask. I'll try to help.
Enter hall of Lost Souls.
Dead end to your left, you go right (R) and come to hall that goes left (L) and R. You go L. first lever in little alcove.
Back track and now go straight, lever 2 is to your R, but is trap, ignore.
Keep going straight. The hall zigzags a little but you will find lever 3 in alcove to the right again. That opens secret room. come past secret room and stay to your first right. Take hall which I think is now call the Lost Souls. Keep straight until facing wall, turn L then go to next hall and on L is lever 4. Now go straight until facing a wall again and turn L. Go until it ends and turn L again and left into a room. Lever 5 is on the R side as you enter. Also push button on L side of room for a secret room. Leave this first room and keep turning L until see the trap, Shoot arrow or float over and pusch button on wall. Turn L and see lever 6. Go back and push lever 5 again, then go back to hall where you shoot arrow, and start going to the right this time. All turns from here will be little juts to the left until get to long hall that goes to the left. There is lever 7. Now is fun part. Back track to where you shot arrow (or floated), turn left, then another qiuck L then R. You will be in hall where lever 4 is but now if you go L again and take short hall you end up facing a wall. Now you turn R. Lever 8 in in this alcove. Come out and go straight until you get to first hall on the R. Go there, take first L and lever 9 in alcove. Now you have to get back to the place you shot that arrow and go back toward the L again and instead of going in alcove of lever 7, you gain access to the Statue Room.
You are there, just follow the pointing statue. But be ready for a few fightsl

Glad you made it. Have fun, but watch out for a few unexpected surprizes.
