RedGuard is kinda like it, but the graphics in RedGuard are rancid.

Blade of Darkness is awesome, but it's HARD. I love the game, but I can't beat it.

And those are the only two like Gothic that I've played. But I guarantee that you won't be happy with any game that even compares to Gothic if what you're looking for is a game like it. Gothic is a one of a kind experience. I've never played anything like it, and I've been playing video games since PacMan and Kiss's Pinball Machine.

Try either Redguard or Summoner. I'd say Redguard, though. Third person, real time combat (unlike Summoner which is round-based combat). Besides, it plays in the Elder Scrolls universe...

There are several other threads about this here, search for them via the Forum's search function.

Do a search, there are many threads on this topic. All with good suggestions.

Not if you have a card with Glide support.

Return to Krondor is a cool game, although a bit dated. It's turn based as well, and it's no where near as good as Gothic

And of course try Evil Islands Good but long and difficult game, especially at the beginning.

Wait until May and get Morrowind. You'll love that game.

If you can wait until april 30th, Morrowind will come out. It will definatly match up to and go beyond Gothic.

By far the most similar game to Gothic is Ultima IX: Ascention. Both are 3D, 3rd-person role playing games, and both have a similar feel, especially with regard to characters, landscape, and camera. Both have also been ridiculed for a clumsy interface. However, despite a far richer heritage and pedigree, Ultima IX can't stand up to Gothic. I kept thinking that Gothic is what Ultima IX was meant to be and should have been. Both needed more rewarding endings, though.
