Pathway to vally of mines

I am in Chapter 2 now, with my mage. And holy hell, the way MUST be long. Are you supposed to be going by the ice place to get where you need to go?
And where must I go for the proof?

First, have you entered to the castle (former old camp)? Did you find the opening to the castle? (i.e. orc ram) Did you talk to Garond?

I have seen a camp with a watch tower in it. No Garond but 2 paladins.

You must be at Marcos' mine. That's the wrong side.

Go back to the place where you met Jergen the hunter (the very first person you met in the mine valley). Now, swim left instead of right. As you see a forest on your right, go through the forest. In the forest, there should be quite a lot of wolves.

While you are crossing the forest, you should see the castle broken by a giant ram on your right. This giant ram is guarded by a few orcs and your task is to run to the ram without being hit by the orcs. Choose the best path to run to the ram, then run as fast as you can. As you reach the ram, run up the ram. At the top, a paladin will welcome you to the castle.

My directions are extremely misleading. Right now, I'm going to post some screenshots so that you can understand what I've just said.

Ok. Did some screenshots. Hope the screenshots won't be misleading. Just follow the red arrows and do your job as fast as you can, ESPECIALLY IN THE LAST FEW STEPS.

Speed potion and Transform Spell Scrolls will help you greatly.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3
(Be prepared to fight. You'll encounter A LOT OF scavengers)

Step 4

Step 5
(You'll meet some orcs if you walk straight too far.)
(After you beat the wolves, I advice you to save your game at this point.)

Step 6
(Some orcs should be aroused at this point. So RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN)

Step 7
(The orcs will be angry at this point. AGAIN, RUN until you reach the small path, then turn right.)

Step 8
(This is the climax. RUN BABY RUN.)

Step 9
(Congratulations! The orcs will not chase against you when you're climbing the ram. Please, don't use this exploit to kill the poor orcs. )

This is how I got there. I know there must be a smarter path. Hopefully someone else in this forum can give you better directions.

The only better way is to kill all orcs as I did
But it takes some time and depends on how much Exp You had before entering chapter 2. If orcs cause too much trouble then Kiwi`s route is probably the best.

You must find Diego as should be in the letter found on dead paladin Silvestro. If You will have problems doing it type Diego in search and it should bring You some good hints.

You mean Fajeth's mine (the "most populated" one)? Did you do the snapper quest for him? Did you talk to Bilgot? Did you find Olav?

That mine is fake. Go to point (3) in the map I referred above.
