Overheard people talking about a new RPG called Grom set in 1942 in Tibet. Has anyone tried it or even heard about it. Descriptions are found are very vague |

I think I saw it in a shop a few weeks ago. CDV did their usual (almost) stealth release.
The trailer looked unimpressive. And the DVD-box disqualifies it.

I tried demo, I would say it’s has similarity to Commandos.
You have an ass carrying more equipment; there are some games within that you can play for some gold. You can pause in the middle of the battle to assign orders and interference isn’t that bad.
One thing I really didn’t like is when you are very close to enemy you cannot shot him, automatically engage in the hand to hand combat. Also when you select automatic attack your man will start shooting regardless what he has in hands.

Well, well. You know, I was supposed to do a review of the game should it come out, but quite obviously CDV forgot me.
After I played the demo all I can say is, 'Luckily'.
Normally I'm not a graphics person, meaning I have no problems with not-so-great graphics as long as a game has other virtues like interesting gameplay or an intriguing story.
I think the demo was bad. Okay, so the controls aren't intuitive but they aren't bad, either. But: Less than average graphics, sparse sound, dull gameplay, sub-standard dialogues. I couldn't even finish the demo because I was bored out of my mind.
Okay, perhaps the full game has some redeeming qualities, but right now I doubt it  .

[size=9]No comment here made is representative of RPGDot in any way, shape, or form, so you cant sue me because 1. your game sucks, and 2. somebody agreed with me, so i have discovered I AM NOT INSANE AFTER ALL!!! WOOHOO![size]
And i know i'm right, because they say i am a "Most Exalted Highlord"!!! That means i own you! hahahahahaha <giddy laughter> |
