Lineage 2 Preview at IGN

IGN has a preview of Lineage 2 online. Pretty shots, by the way. Here's a part for you:

Getting into this pretty world will be easy enough to do. The team developing the game has decided to go the way of letting characters grow over time instead of forcing players to make choices the don't understand and can't undo. When creating a character, players will have a choice between the five races, Human, Elf, Dark Elf, and the as of yet unseen Dwarves and Orcs. From there players will have the normal choices to designate gender, hair, eyes, body type, and so on. You'll also have to choose between warrior and spell caster as you first real decision. These are a pretty broad stereotype of class for beginners that don't know what to choose from. After level 20, players will be able to specify a profession they want to follow inside of the bigger class and will gain access to skills and spells found within that branch. As players reach significant experience markers down the road, they'll be able to branch out even farther. Experience also grants players the chance to open up new skills or spells inside the skill tree. They come in both active and passive varieties and will show up on your interface in two separate panels to delineate them. Active skills are of course those you need to use yourself while passive are those that are always working in the background without you ever having to life a finger.

The review is limited, but interesting

Even though the review is not real detailed, it is interesting. It would be nice if NCsoft would keep up the English version of their website for Lineage II as well as they do their Korean site.
I have to admit, I am more attracted to the character graphics than I am most of the rest of the 'features' which are not really well described just yet.
And the movements .. characters, monsters, ships, flying dragons .. looks really good. Maybe it's the 'near anime' look that appeals to me...or maybe I'm just getting bored of the 'realism' that many seem to be striving for... anyway, I like having choices and although I am hearing people say there will be too many online games soon, I totally disagree. More is better when it comes to RPG choices!
