Hey Gorath where does Xicat have to do with JoWood?
The same that JoWooD has to do with Gothic 1: nothing.

Yes, this sounds like Xicat. Maybe posting in their forum helps.

I also wrote to JoWood' PR and suggested that they release a package deal with G1.2,NOTR before G3
Such a thing will come in Germany this month. They licensed Gothic for it.

Piranha Bytes 'made' Gothic 1 and 2, Egmont did the original G1 publishing while Xicat published it in the English speaking world. JoWooD came aboard for G2... they weren't the developer, they're a publishing company. _________________ Jaz |

I can't believe that JoWood, or who ever changed Diego's voice. His new voice is so terrible compaired to the old one. _________________ Do you know how LAZY you Morrowind people are! Instead of getting up and fighting Dagoth Ur, you send someone to do it for you! Only I'm excused, I AM the king. |

Gothic 1 made him sound like a deboinare(sp?) suave rogue. Now he sounds like an old codger. I like that the hero's voice acting is better. It doesn't sound so horrible and broken. Jarvis changed races. He also now has a completely different voice. Alot more masculine and alot less like a snot nosed brat like in the first one. Lares sounds better. He sounds less like a dumb brute and more like a cunning rogue. Pyrokar sounds different... at least from the little I heard him say in the opening movie of Gothic 1. He sounds older now...before he sounded young. The only other person I don't remember what they sounded like in the first was Buster...but he wasn't a major person anyway, still isn't. I noticed that none of the mercs who hated your guts lived. Like Butch, Shrike, The Ricelord or Lefty. Personally I would have liked to see The Ricelord alive. I loved pasting him every time I passed the warehouse where he stood around all day. Heh heh. What kind of nerd calls himself the Rice Lord? Or even accepts the nick name of The Rice Lord? I'm sorry. Thats just funny and idiotic. I miss some of the humor from Gothic 1. Like Herek. "I killed ten men in one night!" I then pasted the guy for free blades every time he went to get a new one to sharpen. Mud wasn't really funny. He was annoying as heck. I also noticed they brought back the nude sketch from Gothic 1. In Babo's documents. I would have thought Stone would have survived given his invincibilty and that the Ore Barons would didn't kill him when they should have. I'm wondering if all the Bandits are just Old camp rejects. And if Dexter their leader is the shadow from old camp who was looking for a potion recipe. I'm also wondering how Grimes continues to survive when everyone else around him is dead or dying. I miss Aleph and Snipes...even though they were minor characters they added humor. In Gothic 2 they have alot less humorous characters. Everyone in Gothic 2 acted like they were tough b*stards when they had no right to be. I also liked how in Gothic 1 when npcs who were significantly weaker than a critter or another NPC they ran like heck. In G2 when orcs were attacking a mining site even the convicts joined in the fight with no weapons just doing jump kicks. More to come. _________________ "What are you gonna do? Release the dogs?! Jowood doesn't make games, for the last time As far as I know the guy who did G1's Diego wasn't able/available to do G2's Diego or didn't want to do it anymore. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

This is "kinda" off topic, but not really.....
I was watching a documentary about the wild west here in the usa. They used the sound track out of gothic for fights........the sounds when you take damage and the scream when you die. (The Ooooo Oooooooooooo....AaaaaaH)
I was watching a porn flick and they used the Gothic soundtrack...but the flick was set on an island paradise.
And tonight I watched another documentary about Archemeades(sp) claw.....I swear is sounded like Gorn was the narrator.....the name given for the narrator was Glenn Wrage................is that "Gorn"? _________________ Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?

About the creature/fight sounds... many games license third-party sound libraries which are also available for others who pay for them. Thus, many creatures from different games sound similar. So the documentary people might have licensed those standard death rattles just like PB did. _________________ Jaz |

Actually, I think that fire mage from the first game was just a messenger, not Pyrocar. _________________ Do you know how LAZY you Morrowind people are! Instead of getting up and fighting Dagoth Ur, you send someone to do it for you! Only I'm excused, I AM the king. |
