Help me please Max Payne 2 problem!!

I apologize to the moderators because this is a double post. My mistake was probable posting in Adventure games because there is virtually no traffic there.
My problem is that Max payne has dissapeared, all I can see is his eyebrows. other friendly characters would occasionally dissapear too and then reappear at a diff angle. Max is completely gone now but reappears when going through doors and then is gone again shortly after.
I've done a web search and can find no relevant info relating to this specific problem.
I'm using a P4 2.4G comp with a radeon 9100 with the most recent drivers.
I've dicked around with all of the in-game graphic settings but to no avail.
I realize this is not the place for max payne, but any help would be appreciated.
