As they've done every month since the game opened, the hardworking team of folks at SOE has put a huge patch into place for the month of October. A few lingering bugs aside, the changes are being well recieved by the players. Check out the laundry list of changes here |

I have to take exceptition to this patch being well received.
The servers were down with some only minor occasional exceptions for nearly 24 hours.
The patches introduced so many more new and hugely game breaking bugs, that any thing it intended to fix is not even noticeable.
For example.. wearing armor will cause you to take more damage than not wearing it. Travel tickets that cost credits can disappear on you and take you nowhere. Calling out pets that are not full grown counts as though they were adult .. including how many you can call out and what experience you will receive when they kill something. PvP damage was reduced so that in many cases a 'hit' to another player will hurt the attacker more because of the 'action' cost they take while performing the attack. Harvesters are now taking twice the power requirements to stay up and running (not intended).
All in all, this patching process for SWG has gotten increasingly worse instead of better and leaves the players with little hope that management of the game's production even exists.

From everything I've seen, the response from the player base on the forums has been conservatively optimistic. I know a lot of people are happy that they've moved on to the newest Act, for example.
Q has stated that there will be information available this afternoon regarding issues that have resulted from the patch, and an ETA on taking care of them. |
