How the fudge do you heal?
   

How do i restore my magic and health.

Can I sleep if so where can I sleep in the first town?

Press T to sleep in the wild. In town you have to find a bed. Joining a guild will help you out there... but since that's not an option in the first town...

There's a bed you can use in the Office of Census main building. It's straight down the hall and down some stairs from the office with the character generator NPC and evidence box.
