The most fun I had in Gothic...

Was playing a summoner like character. Granted, he wasn't a mage, but with 20-30 summoning scrolls of each type, he didn't need to be.

It all started when I had one or two skeleton summoning scrolls. I managed to clean out old monastery (this was before I had to collect focus stones) but couldn't get past that shadowbeast. No matter what I tried, I just could not hurt it. Eventually, I managed to run past it and into the treasure room. After looting everything in sight, I suddenly became aware of my predicament. I was stuck in this room, with a raging mad shadowbeast trying to bring down the doorframe and the wall that supports it. There was no way I'm getting out of that room alive. As I was quickly running out of options, I ran across my skeleton summoning spells. At this point, I could beat up on skeletons, so I didn't think much of them. I figured, if nothing else, they may prove a temporary distraction to the shadowbeast. All I needed is for it to look the other way for 2 seconds and I'll be gone! So, the summoning begins; the ground shakes and rumbles; and 3 skeletons pop up! Neat, and I thought I'd get one. No sooner they popped up did they procede to attack the shadowbeast. And as my cunning plan called for, they distract it for a bit and I make a run for it. As I got away, I noticed that my skeletons are at it full blast. Hopping around and circling the shadowbeast. Poking at it from all sides. Running, dodging, making funny sounds... So I'm curious at this point and watch this fight from behind a big boulder. This goes on for a bit, and soon enough, my jaw drops to the ground, along with the corpse of a shadowbeast. My skellies whooped its behind like it was a pinata and only one of them seemed to be slightly hurt. I had new-found respect for skellies. But all that was just another ordinarily extraodinary moment. What made this an exceptional moment was what happened as the shadowbeast hit the ground. My skellies stood around it and started giggling at it. Of course, they have no voices, so they were doinging with their teeth. They started making the "kakaka" sounds and pointing at the shadowbeast with their fingers. That was the funniest thing I've seen in the game. Later on I found out that they love taunting their opponents as well. They do this by motioning with their hands as if saying "c'mon big guy, let's boggie!" There is nothing as funny as 6-8 skellies laughing after they took down a Temple Guard. After they defeated the shadowbeast, I took my skellies for a stroll through the forest. I didn't know how long they last, so I wanted to make the most of them. It turns out summoned critters last indefinately long. But what made my skellies even more dear to me was the following. As we are running through the forrest looking for some bloodflies and wolves to kill, I notice the sound of rattling bones behind me go faint and then disappear. I thought they "expired" on me. So I kept running on. All of a sudden, I'm told I got +50xp. And then +70, and another +50,... So I'm confused now, wondering what the hell is going on, since I'm not fighting anything. Then, about a minute later, the sound of rattling bones is heard again and my private hell army runs back to me smiling and giggling. They sure are blood thristy. Turns out though, they are a bit TOO blood thirsty. As we made our way to the Swamp camp, they saw a guard at the gate, made some funny noises between themselves, one did the taunting move and they all just ran for the closest guard. Before I could do anything or yell at them to behave, the guard was dead... Ah well, I got me a nice sword for change. Luckally, nobody there blamed it on me.

Later on I found the charm of stone golems and fire demons. In fact, as I was facing the Sleeper, I summoned 7 fire demons just for kicks. I tried summoning some golems, but they are extremely racist and attack any other critters in your party. So after settling some disputes between fire demons and stone golems, I decended into the pit. Shame they coudln't do much though.

Just a word of warning for any young summoners. Don't summon skeleton armies to fight skeleton armies. Geez... You got 20 skeletons in the room, 10 friendly and 10 hostile (I've actually had this happen). And no way to tell which is which until they hit you. And then targeting them is a whole new can of worms...

Anyways, if anybody didn't try summoner path yet, I'd heartily recommend it. Just be careful as your skellies can be VERY bloodthirsty.

I'd just like to know if there are any summoning runes...I'd love to bring an army of skeletons into OC....I so detest the guards and diggers there..

Unfortunately, there is no summoning runes, only scrolls.

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate?

The most fun in Gothic? Ah yes, those lonely nights in the Old Camp, the drudgery of constant campaigns, the constant pissing on the walls outside of my room, those long dreary rainy night, too much Rice Schnapps, Mudd and his damn pink teddy. Ahh, the stories I could tell about Mudd and his pink teddy; perhaps, after some Rice Schnapps...perhaps

Insert a troll and a couple golems inside the OC castle. All hell breaks loose.

Yes, I remember summoning skeletons in the sleeper temple to fight skeletons. All went well until the end. There were two skeletons left and they both walked towards me, then one of them hit me. The bastard. After that I always kill summoned skeletons after they have done their job.

hitting someone and then finding out where they went. Just follow their blood.
All the girls run to the old camp castle (even the ones from the sect camp)
