Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh!!! Turning off Norton Anti-Virus

I've heard that it's better to disable Norton Anti-Virus while first playing a game, but I can't figure out how. Every time bring up the window there is no place to shut it down (or if there is, I don't see it). How can this be accomplished?

Right click it's icon on the task bar, the option for disabling it is there.

Hmmm. . . if it was there, it wasn't obvious. I'll check again.

It is most certainly there... Offcourse, you can always shutdown the service to get the same effect.

If you have Norton System's Works you will want to turn off the system monitoring as well. Otherwise if you play for a long time and save a lot, you may get messed up when you get a defrag alarm that keeps trying to open during gameplay.
