Ok, I have just finished the game for the 4th time.
I have tried both Paladin and Mage all the way through and Mercenary long enough to know it is just not my style.
Here is my take.
Paladins are servants of the king and the heirachy with no real independance. Mages seem to have the most independance with an acceptable level of honor. (Mercs have little or no honor, other than Gorn and Lee)
I finished with the following stats
Level 40
Spare LP's 31
Strength 69
Dex 100
Mana 540
One handed 13
Two handed 12
Bow 11
Crossbow 10
Sneak
Pick Pockets
Pick Locks
Runes (Circle 6)
Alchemy
8 spare unused runestones
Dragon hunter Crossbow
Stormbringer
Holy Missile
Wave of Death
8000 gold and many potions to spare
The only runes I created were
Fire Arrow (compulsory)
Create Goblin Skeleton (Yes I know there is a free one in chapter 3 but they are very useful little guys)
Fireball
Large Fireball
Destroy Undead
Holy Missile
Wave of Death
I also have learned breath of death, because of a bug in the game which makes the wave of death at the rune table unavailable until another circle 6 rune is learned.
All other runes are fairly pointless to create.
My methodology against the dragons and other large opponents is multiple goblin skeletons (3 take out a seeker, 6 to take out a golem, 10 to take out an ordinary troll and 20 to take out a dragon)
The other method is to learn high dex before joining the monastary (doubles in LPs after joining) from Torlof. Crossbow is my weapon of choice, especially at close range. (YES, CLOSE range)
I am now messing about with some cheats.
Just my thoughts.
