Enchanting a Sword

I finally got a grand soul gem with a Golden Saint trapped. I now want to enchant a Daecric Sword I have been carrying forever. When I enchant it with 100 mag fire on touch the result is a sword that does not "ast on strike" like other magic swords but "cast on use" which does not activate any magic when I strike. What am I doing wrong?

Hmmm... not sure if this will help, but, make sure you select the "Cast when strike" option in the window where you select the weapon and soul gem to use. (IIRC)

Undo an item enchanted???

guess I screwed up my enchantment of my daedric sword as well. Have same problem as guy above, does not paralyze at all "on touch".

Is there a way to "unenchant" my sword, and err, get grand soul gem back??? probably not, don't usually use cheats, but in this case, may make an exception. Use the console with a command to undo??

Let me know.

in the lower left hand corner of the enchant box, there's a button that switches from "cast when used" to "cast when strikes". Make sure it's on "cast when strikes" before you use the weapon.

Does this mean you can "correct" an item if you've made a mistake when you made it? I messed up my Amulet of Speed. ANyway, I'm going to have a look.
