Bonebiter IS a bug

If you don't pick it up when you kill the wraith, and then leave the Ancestral Tombs, Bonebiter will not be there when you come back. The Skeletons all respawn, but the wraith does not, and the bow disappears with the wraith's body. I searched over and over for that bow, and it was definitely not there the second time I went in there - nor was the wraith's body. THat is definitely a no-no if it was intentional, but I suspect it is a bug.

The problem is that I now have too mcuh stuff to carry, and will have to come back and redo all of this area one more time, which is boring because I have been killing skeleton warriors for the past 7 hours.

You know it's not THAT hard that one. You can just walk through the most of it, you don't have to open all the doors in the tomb, just the top one where bonebiter is, so of course it's annoying, but it's an easy quest if you just run through....... easy IF you found the tomb anyways. I wandered the wastes for HOURS to find that stupid tomb - went all the way to Ghostfence and 2 strongholds in the area... one of which had a dead body with sum nice stuff, but nevertheless! I think the directions for it was pretty vague.

Well if you listened to the directions it was quite simple, go to the waters edge, turn right which would be east, then turn south and the rock cairn which is just a stack of rocks and you go straight there, don't turn just go up and down the hills. Very simple. Why you didn't pick up the bow after you killed the wraith is your own fault. Didn't anyone ever tell you to make sure you complete that which is most important first. This applies in real life as much as Morrowind. Follow it not to your own dismay. Anyway, Morrowind is a great game. Have fun.

Hagatha,I know exactly what your talking about.I spent two nights in there looking for that stupid bow.
I finally had to add it in the game using the console command.I don't usually use cheats,but I figured this was a bug in the game.
After I killed the wraith,I didn't even leave the tomb,I rested and it disappeared,so I don't think leaving and coming back did it to you.
If you want to do this.When you in the game hit the ~ key to get the console command.Then type : player->Additem"bonebiter_bow_unique"1.
That did for me.Hope I was able to help you.

To "Guest" (the first one):
Yes it is oh-so simple. Not. A stone cairn eh? Do you have any idea how many points on that route qualifies as a big bunch of stones? If you miss that one by accident and take a wrong turn you end up wandering about for hours - at that point one may be lucky to hit find the right one, but it's just as likely that you take another. And simply because you'll have a wrong angle to the hill, finding a hill facing north with the right entrance CAN be tricky.

A cairn is actually a small pile of rocks. The big jutting rocks are big jutting rocks.

A stone cairn kind of looks like a big pile of dog poo. So turn south at the big pile of dog poo.

I'm constantly surprised at

a) the large number of people on the board who are genuinely helpful and want others to enjoy the game (thanks for the tips, etc.), and;

b) the number of truly superior beings who deign to grace us with their presence on this board, although they do feel obliged to let us know how incompetent we mere mortals are. Perhaps gods don't need to be gracious.
