Beyond Divinity: Review @ Worthplaying

Larian's 'Beyond Divinity' has been reviewed at Worthplaying. The score is a modest 7.5/10 and here's a snip:
One of the biggest challenges in reviewing games is giving a title a fair shake when compared against its competition. The other big challenge is to let a game stand on its own, separate from any of it predecessors. Beyond Divinity had a steep hill to climb. If it was going to stand out as a worthy buy it was going to have to match or exceed the first game in the series Divine Divinity and hold up well to the recent master-stroke of RPGs, Sacred. Unfortunately Beyond Divinity, while fun, doesn’t quite live up to its promise.

Beyond Divinity

I thought this was a good review. I rather enjoyed Divine Divinity but this one doesn't interest me. I don't like the idea of having two characters to baby-sit ( I prefer playing a single character only) and the setting seems dull. I noticed the reviewer commented that the game needed more variety in this area, that is one thing I especially liked about Divine Divinity, it had it all - wilderness-dungeons-towns-cities-caves.

I'm going to pass on this, but I am looking forward to Divine Divinity 2!
