A thought occurred to me. What if they thought that, to get better sales of the product, they should market it for the "Teen rating". Which means that words like "shit" has to be removed. Therefore, they have to re-do all those voice-overs which use such words.
In which case, the game would end up being really screwed up, the voices that Atari finds might not match with the original product's voices, or even be worse.
Who has faith in Atari (Infogrames) anyways? If you follow the gaming industry, you would know that they're more prone to MISTAKE than success.
So once again, any yankee gamers still in need of some G2 action, just order it from europe already. |

How are they going to implement the changes? Impossible without sources and customized tools. Even if they have both, who should make it? You canīt read soures like a book. Even if Atari finds qualified developers they would probably need 4 weeks until they understand what they are doing.
So practically only PB can do it, but this will delay their work on the new project. I guess theyīll only do it they have no other choice. Time is money.
Agreed. I find it highly unlikely that Atari would waste internal resources on trying to modify/alter PB's code base. Do they even have that kind of talent within the company? They are not a development house and are focused on distribution issues. Any desired software changes would most likely be delegated out to Pirhanna Bytes. And since we know for a fact that PB is not working on any kind of "improvements" other than a bug fixing patch, it is doutbful that the US version will be anything other than the European release + the latest patch. _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

By the way, have you guys tried turning the blood levels all the way up in the .ini file? Set the blood level to 3 (max)...so much better!
Yes, not as messy as some games I have played. One side effect is that bloody trails are left on the ground and seem to persist for quite a while. Try running around on the ice in the mountains. _________________ "How are things?"

What I hate about "Atari" is the fact that they have hijacked the old brand name Atari, which actually meant something back in the olden days... if you are an olden gamer like me then you will remember Atari for all the good things they gave the industry "way back then" ... but now they're just a mediocre publishing house who got sick of their silly french name so they hijacked a popular american cultural brand of the 1980's. pooh on them!
<-- still has his Atari 130XE
oops sorry for the off-topic rant |

I still have my 2600!
Infogrames bought the brand name because they bought the company owning it. _________________ Jaz |
