Why isn't Freelancer in the games database?

I know what you think at this point is "That's not an RPG". I know it doesn't label itself as one but as I see it it's much more an RPG then for example Diablo II (I don't want to start that discussion, but it's a good example). Think about it, it's very open ended and freeform and even has a leveling system. It has many factions and lets you play good or bad in any way you want. You can even be a peaceful trader. For those unfamilliar with the game, it's a space sim in the lines of Elite and Privateer. Check out the previews at Gamespy or Gamespot to find out more. Anyway, it's not labeled an RPG but it's most definitely interesting to RPG fans. Why not make an exception and follow the last two months of it's development here?

Hm. We probably could do that. But then we would have to cover X2 as well, and Elite IV (which is still rumored) and others. Frankly, I don't feel too comfortable with that. We could end up becoming bluesnews minus the ego-shooters *g*

You have to draw the line somewhere. I'd include Freelancer on the inside , but I agree with your concern.

@Lorgosin: Freelancer does look like an interesting game for RPGers, though doesn't it?

Yes, the line must be drawn somewhere. A pity though because space trading operas are one of my favourite genres and Freelancer, X2 and Elite 4 are definitely on my list. X didn't get much coverage down here but I loved it and X2 should be great!

I can see your point Rendelius. I kind of expected you'd say that but it was worth a try. You're doing a great job and I wouldn't want you and the others to do more than you feel that you can handle. Anyway, it seems to be a nice game and I for one will be sure to check it out.
