| For someone with the hint book - Hlaalu question |

Long story short: do I really HAVE to strip nude in order to progress to the high ranks of House Hlaalu?? The Great Unwashed of the forum goers seem to believe that stripping is the one and only way to do it. I would like to believe otherwise.  Help.

Being as that Curio is a flaming homosexual (No, that's not bigotted, the man's voice lisps like all Hell and he calls your character "pudding"), he wants to ogle over your <insert race of your choice here> ass. |

Being a female gamer who always plays female characters when given the choice, I never realized the text was the same for men. I think of him as a friendly old letch, almost a relic, the type you actually enjoy indulging occasionally because you know their code of ethics would never allow them to overstep.
Maybe the designers anticipated that House would tend to attract the female players in disproportionate amounts and for once coded the text toward US? If so, kudos to them! I can't tell you how many times my female heros in games have been propositioned or "rebuffed" (primarily by prostitutes no less) when I spoke to them. Sorry honey, I'm not wired that way...
All you male gamers - welcome to MY world! 
And all you potential game designers out there might do well to view this as a wonderful learning opportunity. Then I can offer your game my praises too. |

I remember being told that to progress further I would need to goto Vivec Great House Hlaalu and find a sponser. Is Curio the only sponser you can get? Maybe the Endryn chick can sponser too, or even the the Grandmaster in Ebonheart?
Maybe goto Endryn in the Waistworks or the Grandmaster in Ebonheart before you stoop to getting naked for the lush.
Looking back I woulda tried those first, at the time I thought I had too aswell.
P.S. Curio makes an excellent HtH practice mob once you become GrandMaster  |

Lisje, I like your take on the matter. Maybe I'll try adopting that viewpoint so I can get a little further in the game. For the time being, my character left in disgust to go take care of some oustanding plotlines.
Good thinking, FrGGr. I had the same thought earlier today and went around to all the other Hlaalu council members. No soap. Curio is it, apparently. Hmm, I didn't visit the Grandmaster, though. There's an idea.
And Lisje, or anyone else who might be wondering ... if you're curious, I am actually a male player playing a female character. She is one of three fantasy characters who have been following me around for years through any number of games. And I won't have her abused by some weirdo 
Oh, and by the way, I thought I'd show this from my experimentation earlier. I found it pretty interesting.

Lisje: Try games Like Arcanum and Fallout 1 & 2. In my humble oppinion some of the best computer roleplaying games available, and as far as I remember (I play male and female characters about 50/50) those three games are excellent at providing equal opportunities.
Heh - just remembered one of my favorite stunts from Fallout: Score this farmer girl, marry her, shoot her and the sleep with her brother. Now THATS a good game  LOL ...best part is - it's possible nomatter your sex
This is by the way also the only computer roleplaying game I know of where you can become a porn actor/actress, a boxing champ and the best bull slinger (Excrement expeditor) in the west.
